Sustainability for the environment

To solve starfish damages on coral reefs and the aquaculture industry, the government purchases the starfish. Since the purchased starfish have no useful way to use, the government spends extra budget to dispose the starfish at a cost.

Starfish damage to coral reefs affects South Korea's marine tourism resources negatively and the annual starfish disposing process cost is approximately 58 million USD.

Recycle and save the future

Starfish are widely criticized for causing tremendous harm to marine species with its economic damage amounting to 400M USD every year.

To address this problem, local governments purchase the starfish. Since the collected starfish are of no use, the governments end up spending an extra budget to burn them down. In the middle, however, we are receiving free starfish supply from the government and using them for 100% upcycling. That’s how ECO-ST is born.

Solution

By receiving free supply of starfish, a marine waste, from the government, we reduce the cost of incineration disposal and create social/environmental values.
